TCI condemns gunfight at Molnoi

The Thadou Community International (TCI) said it is deeply perturbed by the strife between United Kuki Liberation Front (UKLF) cadres and village volunteers that occurred on August 9 at Molnoi, Tengnoupal district which resulted in the loss of four lives.
In a statement, TCI said, "We are profoundly saddened and disturbed by the senseless violence and bloodshed.
As an organization committed to promoting peace, unity, and harmony among all communities, we strongly condemn such acts of violence and divisiveness".
All parties involved should immediately cease hostilities and engage in peaceful dialogue to resolve their differences, it said.
"We also call upon concerned leaders, elders, and stakeholders to take proactive steps to restore trust, mutual understanding, and lead them towards the path of reconciliation.
The TCI extends our deepest condolences to the families of the victims and stands in solidarity with them during this difficult time," said TCI.
Notably, an intense gunfight broke out between armed village volunteers and UKLF cadres at Molnoi village on August 9 after the former allegedly launched an attack on the latter's camp.
The intense gunbattle killed four and injured several others.
The four killed in the gunfight included three members of the village volunteers and one cadre of the UKLF.
