Imphal, June 11 2025: A sit-in demonstration, which culminated with a rally, was staged by womenfolk at Bishnupur Bazar on Wednesday to show solidarity to Arambai Tenggol for protecting the state and opposing any move to arrest AT members.

The rally commenced from Bishnupur Bazar and concluded at the starting point after marching till the Thongjaorok bridge.

The protestors also pulled down the BJP flag.

Speaking to media persons, one of the rallyists, emphasised that people of the state are not happy as they are being pushed to one crisis after another.

She also maintained that MLAs who have failed to protect the people of the state by forming a government should confine themselves within their homes.

Mentioning that AT has not only been protecting the public but also saved many lives and properties in the recent flood, she asserted that they will oppose tooth and nail, any attempt to arrest AT members.

During the rally, the agitators chanted slogans such as 'AT protects Manipur', 'No arbitrary arrest of AT members', 'We mother will support AT', 'We oppose Manipur Police action' and 'Shameful that party with absolute majority cannot form government' .
