Regional Training Camp for NSS 81st Round begins in Imphal

Imphal, June 10 2026:
A three-day Regional Training Camp (RTC) for the upcoming National Sample Survey (NSS) 81st Round was inaugurated on Wednesday at the auditorium of the Directorate of Economics & Statistics, Manipur in Lamphelpat.
The survey round, running from July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027, will cover the Migration Particulars Survey, Survey on Land and Livestock Holding of Households, Situation Assessment Survey of Agricultural -Households (SAS), and the All India Debt and Investment Survey (AIDIS).
Joseph Pauline Kamson, Secretary, Economics & Statistics, Manipur attended as chief guest, while Director Peijonna Kamei presided over the function.
Resource persons from the National Statistics Office, Field Operations Division, Regional Office Imphal included Assistant Director Babul Borah and Senior Statistical Officers Okram Lokendro Singh and Thokchom Premchandra Singh.
The Migration Particulars Survey will collect data on last usual residence, migration patterns, reasons for migration, economic activity, and remittances.
AIDIS will provide insights on assets, capital formation, and household indebtedness.
SAS will generate indicators on ownership, operational holdings, income, productive assets, and indebtedness of rural agricultural households.
The camp aims to equip field staff for effective data collection during the yearlong survey.
