World Breastfeeding Week celebrated

The Department of Home Science, Dhanamanjuri University, Imphal, celebrated World Breastfeeding Week at the Departmental Room, GP Women's College on August 7, 2025 .
The event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of breastfeeding for the health and well-being of both mother and child.
As part of the observance, a Poster Making and a Slogan Writing Competition was organised on the theme, "Prioritise Breastfeeding: Create Sustainable Support Systems".
The competition provided a platform for students to express their creativity and raise awareness about the importance of breastfeeding for both mother and child.
The participants used visuals and slogans to highlight key messages around breastfeeding as a natural, healthy, and essential practice for infant survival and development.
The programme aimed to educate students and the community on the lifelong benefits of breastfeeding, not only for babies but also for mothers and society at large.
The event successfully combined academic learning with creative expression and advocacy.
Faculty members and students actively participated in the celebration.
