One-day legal awareness programme held at Kumbi

A one-day legal awareness programme aimed at educating young people on the dangers of drug abuse and the importance of healthy living was held today at BK Golden Academy, Kumbi.
Held under the theme "Dawn - Drug Awareness & Wellness Navigation - For a Drug Free India", the event was organised by the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Bishnupur under the sponsorship of the Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MASLSA) .
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and teachers of the institute.
The event was graced by DLSA Bishnupur chairman Samom Ibjen; secretary of DLA Bishnupur, Bineshwori Maibam; BK Golden Academy founders Ninthoujam Birkumar Singh and Ningthoujam Binodkumari Devi; principal of BK Golden Academy, Khangembam Bindamchandra Singh; and Chief Functionary of Reunion Foundation, Bishnupur, Angom Robindro Singh; who served as presidium members, Addressing the gathering, DLSA chairman, Samom Ibjen urged the youth to distance themselves from drugs and other harmful substances, stressing the need to build a drug-free country.
Comparing drag use to lifethreatening diseases where early detection and treatment can save lives, he highlighted that precaution and awareness remain key to preventing addiction.
He further called upon students to collectively pledge "No to Drugs, Yes to Life", noting that even one wrong decision could lead to addiction and destroy lives.
He appealed to the public not only to abstain from drugs but also to help society eradicate the menace of drags.
During the session, Chief Functionary of Reunion Foundation, Angom Robindro, as resource person, addressed topics such as the origins of drug dependency, techniques to prevent relapse, the impact of drugs on personal and family life, and the path to returning to normal life, sharing his life experience.
