457 patients benefit in 11 AR free medical camp

Tamenglong, August 08 2011:
The 11 Assam Rifles under the Red Shield Division organized a two day free medical camp and distributed free medicines at Awangkhul on August 6 and 7, said a press release issued by 11 AR .
On August 6 medical checkup for 220 students, 113 boys and 107 girls, of Savio School was carried out.
On August 7, 237 people including 41 male, 107 female and 126 children were examined and given treatment.
Special emphasis was given on educating people about malaria and hygiene aspects.
The Commandant 11 Assam Rifles also visited Bethel Baptist Church Tamenglong on invitation from the locals of Tamenglong.
Around 250 villagers including young children were present on the occasion to welcome him.
The Commandant in his address to the people advised young children to follow the path of righteousness and good virtues and heed to parents, teachers and elders.
250 sets of stationery items including note books, pens, pencils and erasers were presented to the poor children on the occasion.
The Commandant also announced presentation of a water tank to the Church authorities.
The local appreciated the continuous efforts and genuine concern of the Battalion for the welfare of the people, the press released added.
