ADAM organises tree plantation drive at Kakching Makha High School

Kakching, June 08 2026:
As part of its ongoing "U-Wa Tharasi, U-Wa Hinghallasi" campaign, the Alliance for Alternatives Manipur (ADAM), Kakching, organised a special tree plantation programme at Kakching Makha High School on Monday.
The programme was conducted in collaboration with Kakching Makha High School and the Range Forest Office, Kakching.
Around 80 participants, including students, teachers, and local youths, took part in the initiative.
The plantation drive was inaugurated by Naorem Ningol Kshetrimayum Komolini Devi, the oldest resident of Kakching who has attained the age of 100 years.
She was joined by Ksh Godadhar Singh, one of the oldest male residents of Kakching Makha Leikai and a visiting Guru at JN Dance Academy, Imphal, along with Naorem Dhananjoy Singh.
As part of the programme, approximately 80 Spanish Cherry (Bokul) saplings were planted around the school playground to enhance greenery and promote environmental conservation.
In addition, ADAM also handed over 16 ornamental plants to the school authorities.
The plants will be maintained and displayed along the school verandah to improve the aesthetic appeal of the campus.
