SWC Khangabok building inaugurated

The newly constructed building of the Social Welfare Club (SWC), Khangabok was inaugurated today and handed over to the local public.
Khundrakpam Rajmohon Singh, National Youth Awardee and Member, Khangabok Zilla Parishad, reportedly bore the cost of the construction of the SWC buidling out of his own pocket, which amounted to Rs 25 lakh.
Dr L Ibungohal Singh, retd Principal, Modem College and founder president of Social Welfare Club cut the ceremonial ribbon and officially inaugurated the club building.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by Laishram Tomba Khuman, retd Inspector Wireless, Manipur Police Department; Moirangthem Rameshwor Singh, retd Senior Accountant; M Gopiromon Singh, chairman, Administrative Committee Khangabok Part II GP and Kh Rajmohon Singh, Member, Khangabok Zilla Parishad as the presidium members.
Speaking in this connection, Kh Rajmohon said that SWC is a notable club which was registered in 1978 and has since then worked for public welfare.
Stating that he has also served as club secretary at SWC, he conveyed a deep and lasting bond with the club.
Hence, he took the step to bear the cost of upgrading the club building from a kuccha to a pucca building, he maintained.
Further, he expressed hope that the club members will continue to work diligently in service of the local populace and ensure consistent longevity of Social Welfare Club.
