Imphal, May 07 2026: Retd IPS officer Daljit Singh Chaudhary has been appointed as the Vice Chancellor of National Sports University, Imphal, Manipur.

According to an order issued by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports Department of Sports, Government of India, the appointment will be for a period of 5 years from the date of assumption of charge of the post or till he attains the age of 70 years, whichever is earlier.

Previously, Daljit Singh Chaudhary served as the Director General of Border Security Force (BSF) and retired in November last year.

He is a cadre of the 1990 batch of IPS (Uttar Pradesh).

Separately, AIMS Manipur had earlier welcomed the communication from the Prime Minister's Office assuring that a regular VC will be appointed shortly.
