EPC camps attacked

Two Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) contractor camps at Khuangging and Maukhat village under Churachandpur district were reportedly attacked on midnight of May 5 resulting in huge loss of property and machinery.
According to a statement issued by GPT Infraprojects Limited, the agency's EPC contractor camp at Khuangging village was set up for the work of widening the Churachandpur to Tuivai section of NH-102B .
Around midnight some unknown miscreants looted and torched the entire camp leading to loss of all Government documents related to the ongoing project.
The statement added that the attackers vandalized the plant and approximately fifteen heavy machinery/vehicles were burned.
Store materials such as cement, steel, diesel, LPG cylinder, laptop/computers, printer, scanner and other communication devices as well as essential items like food were also looted and torched, GPT Infraprojects Limited added.
A separate statement issued by Bharat Vanijya Eastern Pvt Ltd has shared that the agency had set up its camp for construction of NH-102B at Maukhat village.
Similar to the above scenario, the camp was torched and looted resulting in loss of Government documents, forty heavy machinery, store materials and food items.
In both cases, the staff had to move out from the camp towards the forests to escape the attack, according to the statements.
Both EPC contractor camps have suffered losses due to the ongoing conflict and the projects would need a complete remobilization, the statements added.
