Thoubal, April 07 2026:
In wake of the tragic incident at Tronglaobi, where alleged Kuki militants carried out a bomb attack killing two minor children and injuring their mother, the Thoubal Apunba Lup (TAL) has announced a total shutdown in its operational areas, including the closure of government offices.
The meeting was taken during a joint meeting convened by TAL at the Jupiter Club office, Thoubal Bamon Leirak, with participation from representatives of various local clubs and civil society organisations.
Speaking to the media, TAL publicity secretary Sanjembam Amarjit strongly condemned the attack, terming it an "inhuman act" that claimed the lives of innocent children.
He demanded that those responsible for the incident be arrested without delay and awarded the strictest punishment under the law.
Amarjit stated that unless the demands raised by TAL are fulfilled, all government-related activities in Thoubal would remain suspended with immediate effect.
He further announced that a total shutdown would be enforced in all areas under the jurisdiction of TAL.
However, he clarified that essential services such as medical service, fire services, water supply, electricity and activities related to ritual ceremonies would be exempted from the shutdown.
TAL also urged the government to take a firm and decisive stand on the Tronglaobi incident, stressing the need for immediate action to ensure justice and prevent recurrence of such acts.
