DC inaugurates make-up training programme for IDPs

Jiribam, August 05 2025:
Deputy Commissioner, Jiribam, Krishna Kumar, today inaugurated a 7-day makeup training programme for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) at Jiribam Higher Secondary School, Babupara.
The training program, organized by the District Administration in collaboration with MSRLM, Jiribam District, aims to empower IDPs with skills to generate income and become self-reliant.
The program, with the motto "Empower Yourself, Transform Lives with Skill Upgradation," is specifically designed for women inmates of IDPs and girl students.
Krishna Kumar emphasized the importance of teamwork and encouraged trainees to ask questions without hesitation.
He also highlighted that the District Administration is providing food, lodging, and healthcare facilities to IDPs free of cost.
Krishna Kumar appreciated MSRLM Jiribam for initiating such training programs and encouraged trainees to tap the knowledge gained to secure suitable jobs.
He also lauded IDPs who got jobs after attending similar training and urged the remaining IDPs to participate.
He highlighted that the Government aims to close all relief camps by December 2025 and has targeted making IDPs self-independent and self-reliant before the closure.
26 trainees from Jiribam Higher Secondary Relief Camp, Bidyanagar Sports Complex Relief Camp and Children Home Harinagar Relief camp are participating in the 7 days training programme.
The trainees will be trained by Master trainer Thokchom Tombimacha.
