Dance workshop concludes at Kakching

Kakching, July 05 2026:
A month-long workshop on the traditional dance forms of Kakching Haraoba concluded on Sunday at Konggoi Community Hall, Kakching Wairi, with participants showcasing the rich cultural heritage they had learned during the training.
The workshop, which focused on Laiching Jagoi, Laibou Jagoi, Leiyom Jagoi and Phamdou Jagoi, was jointly organised by the Mirror of Whistle Stop (MOWS), Kakching, and the Kunjalata Dance Performing and Research Centre, Kakching.
The valedictory function was attended by Secretary of Youth Affairs and Sports, MI and CADA, Government of Manipur, Naorem Praveen, as the chief guest.
Social worker Yambem Satya presided over the programme as functional president.
Deputy Commissioner of Imphal West Mayanglambam Rajkumar, Langshai Thouna Convenor Dr Ksh Rajiv, social workers Mayanglambam Rabi Mangang and Md Allauddin attended the function as guests of honour.
During the programme, certificates were presented to the participants in recognition of their successful completion of the workshop.
The Amaiba, Amaibi and dance gurus who served as instructors during the training were also honoured with gifts for their contribution to preserving and promoting the traditional dance forms.
The event concluded with captivating performances by the participants, who presented Laiching Jagoi, Laibou Jagoi, Leiyom Jagoi and Phamdou Jagoi, highlighting the cultural significance and artistic richness of Kakching Haraoba.
