AR conducts wreath laying ceremony

Imphal, July 05 2024: Assam Rifles under the aegis Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) organised a wreath laying ceremony for Nb Sub (GD) Resham Bahadur Chhetri of 4 Assam Rifles who made the supreme sacrifice in the service of the Nation on Friday.

According to a release issued by PRO HQ IGAR(S), on July 5, 2001, at Tuensang (Nagaland), Chassir village, due to hostile conditions while carrying out search in general area, Assam Rifles troops came under heavy volume on fire from insurgents, which was promptly retaliated with fire.

Nb Sub (GD) Resham Bahadur Chhetri, sustained a gunshot wound and succumbed to his injuries, thereby laying down his life.

Assam Rifles honoured the brave heart by paying homage at the War Memorial.

The ceremony commenced with the wreath laying followed by a motivational speech narrating the story of the braveheart who made the supreme sacrifice in the service of the Nation.

Altogether, 2 Officers, 4 Junior Commissioned Officers and 45 Other Ranks of Assam Rifles paid tribute by laying wreath & according Guard of Honour.
