RIMS holds 6th CME on 'Antimicrobial Stewardship'

The 6th Continuing Medical Education (CME) Programme on Antimicrobial Stewardship, organised by the Antimicrobial Stewardship Committee of the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, was held today at the Conference Hall of the NICU Annexe, Casualty Block, RIMS.
Prof G Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director, RIMS, inaugurated the programme as chief guest.
Prof N Sanjib Singh, Medical Superintendent, RIMS Hospital, presided, while Prof Ng Gunindro Singh, Co-Principal Investigator, AMSP, RIMS, attended as guest of honour.
Lauding the release of the updated Antibiotic Policy, Prof Sharma said antimicrobial resistance remains a major global public health threat.
He stressed rational antibiotic use, multidisciplinary collaboration, and evidence-based prescribing, urging healthcare professionals to strengthen stewardship efforts to combat resistance.
Faculty, department heads, clinicians, microbiologists, students, nursing officials, and members of the Antimicrobial Stewardship Committee participated.
