Orientation programme held

Coalition Against Drug and Alcohol (CADA) in collaboration with Social Welfare Department, Government of Manipur organised an "Orientation Programme for Facilitators and Research Team UNited Family Skills Programme in Manipur: A Drug Prevention Initiative" at Manipur Press Club, Imphal.
The programme was conducted under the aegis of United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), Regional Office South Asia.
The programme was attended by dignitaries, including Seema Joshi Arya, Criminal Justice Expert, UNODC, Regional Office for South Asia, New Delhi; Dr Sijo George, Senior Programme Officer (NMBA), Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India; Saroja Konsam, Deputy Director (CP), Social Welfare Department Government of Manipur; and Hijam Priyokumar, president CADA.
Speaking on the occasion, CADA secretary general Takhellambam Geetchandra Meitei said that to combat the use of drugs and create a healthy society, CADA in collaboration with UNODC will be conducting a three-month research and orientation programme.
He continued that the findings of the research will be sent to UNODC and related Union Ministries to highlight the situation of drugs and alcohol abuse in Manipur.
