Students protest shortage of teachers

Imphal, August 04 2025: Students of Lamlong Higher Secondary School staged a protest demonstration today against the shortage of teachers in the school.

Speaking to the media, a protesting student said that due to lack of teachers, classes for two subjects namely Manipuri and Elective Manipuri have not been conducted properly for more than two months.

"Out of the two Manipuri teachers, one has retired and the Other teacher has been on maternity leave", she added.

She continued that due to their absence and the delay in sending permanent replacement teachers have caused a lot of inconveniences to the students.

"Sending temporary teachers for only two days will not solve the issue", said the student while urging the Government and relevant departments to take necessary steps for the welfare of the students.

She further cautioned that if the authorities concerned do riot send permanent teachers within three days, the students will be compelled to launch intense forms of agitation including locking the Principal's office.
