Imphal, April 04 2026: The Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) Ram National Secretary and North East in charge Wangkheirakpam Shreeman has distributed CGI roofing sheets to 10 families affected by the recent hailstorm and heavy rains which wreaked havoc in Bishnupur district.

The distribution ceremony was held in Ward No 11 of the district.

Speaking in this connection, W Shreeman said the distribution of CGI roofing sheets was carried out based on the LJP's firm belief of uplifting the downtrodden and needy and living in unity.

Similar aid initiatives will be extended to families in other districts who were affected by the hailstorm.

Additionally, the party has been successful in generating employment for 2000 youths, including IDPs, through skill development programmes, he added.

LJP will continue to extend assistance for the welfare of the public.

On another note, Ongtham Jinet from Ngaikhong Siphai in Bishnupur district shared that the hailstorm of March 15 damaged the tin roofs of many houses and destroyed vegetables and crops grown in the farmlands.

As a majority of the villagers are daily wagers, such natural disasters cause huge hardships to the people, he added.

He thanked the LJP Ram Vilas Manipur Unit for providing a helping hand to the affected families of the village.

Further, he sought a similar relief initiative for the villagers from the State Government.
