Reform Utsav, PPC launched; special Gram Sabha held

Special Gram Sabhas were held across Kakching today to mark the launch of 'Reform Utsav' along with People's Plan Campaign (PPC) 2026-27, themed "Sabki Yojana, Sabka Vikas", under which Gram Panchayats will prepare their Gram Panchayat Development Plans (GPDPs) for Financial Year 2027-28 through participatory and evidence-based planning.
The Gram Sabhas brought together citizens and officials to review the implementation and benefits of key Government schemes and initiatives, identify local needs and gaps, and deliberate on development priorities for their respective villages.
Gram Sabhas were held under Kakching Community Development (CD) Block at Irengband Gram Panchayat (GP), Pallel GP, Wabagai GP, Keirak GP, Hayel Rangoon GP, Maibam Uchiwa GP and Irong Chesaba GP.
Also under Langmeidong CD Block at Chairel Gram Panchayat (GP), Langmeidong GP, Pangantabi GP, Serou GP, Wangoo GP, Sekmaijin GP, Arong Nongmaikhong GP, Hiyanglam GP, Mayeng Lamjao GP and Waikhong GP.
During the sessions, the Gram Sabhas took up key development agendas, including discussion and analysis of Panchayat Advancement Index 2.0(PAI) score of the Gram Sabha/ Village Assembly and indentify the Gaps; dissemination of various citizens-centric reforms and initiatives undertaken by the Government of India to the Citizens and have a discussion on the same under "Reform Utsav".
The agendas also included passing of a resolution by the Gram Sabha declaring the village child marriage free from SHGs/Federation under MSRLM and its inclusion in GPDP, discussion on Village Poverty Reduction Plan (VPRP), and Viksit Gram Panchayat Plan (VGPP) VB-G RAMG for the year 2027-28 .
The Gram Sabhas also discussed the People's Plan Campaign "Sabka Yojana Sabka Vikas" and Solid Waste Management Programme, besides deliberating on local development priorities and the implementation of government schemes.
Information on schemes available through each line department was also read out to the public, while informational audio-visual materials were screened during the sessions.
