7th Meitei Pangal Khunthok Numit observed at Lilong

The 7th Meitei Pangal Khunthok Numit was observed on Thursday at the Multipurpose Hall of Lilong Haoreibi College with a call to strengthen communal harmony, preserve shared history and honour the sacrifices of the forefathers.
The programme was organised by the Meitei Pangal Khunthok Ningsing Thouram Committee (Meipak Ningthou Committee).
The observance was attended by Committee Convenor Arshad Baseimayum; Assistant Professor, Department of History, DM College of Arts, Dr Syed Ahmed; Assistant Professor, Department of History, Imphal College, Dr Thangjam Subhas Singh; social scientist Dr Dhanabir Laishram; former Committee Convenor Ibotombi Loitongbam; Mohtamin of Darul Uloom Markaz, Lilong, Mohtamin Moulana Muheijuddin Mazahiri; and Committee advisor Syed Siraj Ahmed, as presidium members.
Addressing the gathering.
Arshad Baseimayum said the observance was organised with the objective of spreading the message that all communities in Manipur are united and share a common bond.
He stressed that lasting peace, harmony and mutual understanding among the people are essential for the State's progress, stability and prosperity.
He said the annual remembrance is dedicated to honouring the courage, sacrifices and contributions of the forefathers towards the motherland.
He noted that the present generation, as descendants of those brave ancestors, has the responsibility to uphold their legacy and remain committed to the welfare and unity of the State.
The programme also included prayers for the departed forefathers and for lasting peace, stability, communal harmony and prosperity in Manipur.
