Workshop on Lai Haraoba wraps up

Thoubal, June 02 2025: The 7-day workshop on "Kanglei Umang Lai Haraoba" concludes today at Ebudhou Ebendhou Nongpok Ningthou Apanthoibi shrine located at Nonpok Ching, Thoubal.

The 7-day workshop programme which began from May 27, 2025 was organised by Nongpok Ningthou Apanthoibi Trust, a subunit of UTRA.

The closing event of the workshop programme was attended by Khangabok Assembly Constituency MLA, Okram Surjakumar and Nongpok Ningthou Apanthoibi Trust, president Puyamcha Shamu Meitei as presidium members.

During the ceremony, around 100 certificates were distributed to the different "Selungba", "Amaiba," "Amaibi" and other Thougallup for their participation in the workshop.

Speaking at the event, MLA Surjakumar said that the culture of Manipur is no less than any other culture of the world.

Starting from the "Yumsarol" (traditional rules of house construction) to every minute things, the forefathers of ours have kept everything for us, said Surjakumar.

He stated that even though today's generation have followed their own faith, the age-old traditions and customs of Manipur must be preserved at all cost.
