MoU signed to foster academic & research collaboration

Manipur University (MU) and the ICAR Research Complex for the North Eastern Hill (NEH) Region, Umiam, Meghalaya, officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today to foster academic and research collaboration.
The primary objective of the MoU is to strengthen cooperation between universities and research institutions throughout India's North Eastern region.
A significant focus is placed on capacity building for students and scholars in the relevant disciplines of Agriculture and Forestry, by offering them access to research facilities.
The signing ceremony was held in the presence of several key officials from both institutions.
Representing Manipur University were Prof M Premjit Singh, Registrar; Dr M Damyanti Devi, Dean, School of Agricultural Sciences; and Dr Vivek Vaishnav, Head (In-charge), Department of Forestry.
Officials from ICAR RC-NEH attending the occasion included Dr Samarendra Hazarika, Director; Dr Pankaj Baiswar, Principal Scientist and Head, Division of Crop Science; and Dr Nongmaithem Raju Singh, Scientist (Agroforestry), Division of System Research & Engineering (DSRE) .
