Imphal, March 01 2026:
A compilation of articles written by the late Meinam Bhorot, a founder member, former president of BJP Manipur Pradesh, and former ML A of Thangmeiband AC, titled "Thamoinunggi Khollao", was launched today at the Manipur Hindi Parishad on Old Assembly Road, Imphal.
The launching ceremony began with floral tributes to a photograph of late Meinam Bhorot and a minute of silence.
The event was attended by various dignitaries, including the current president of the BJP Manipur, Adhikarimayum Sharda Devi, who delivered the chief guest's address.
She emphasized the significance of writing, noting that it shapes history and writers are the torchbearers who light the path for societal progress.
The book is a collection of articles written by Bhorot from August 2023 to August 2025, reflecting his thoughts and feelings about various incidents during that period.
It contains 45 articles in total.
Thokchom Yumjao Singh, another founder member of BJP Manipur, mentioned that the articles were previously published in the Sanaleibak newspaper.
Meinam Bhorot had expressed a desire to compile these articles into a book, but due to his failing health, Aribam Balkrishna was entrusted with the task of compiling and editing them.
Unfortunately, Bhorot passed away before the book could be published.
Speakers at the event highlighted that Bhorot was not only a politician and leader but also a writer who had published several books.
His writings in "Thamoinunggi Khollao" reflect his deep-seated feelings of dissatisfaction and calls for the betterment of society and the State.
Also present at the event were Aribam Balkrishna Sharma, who spoke about the book, and Nongthombam Nimbus, vice president of BJP Manipur, who delivered the welcome and keynote addresses.
