Senapati, September 29 2026: Another 39 internally displaced persons (IDPs) from Makui Thebram and Makui Pipuram were shifted to Senapati today by the Senapati Police and CRPF .

It may be noted that more than 40 houses in their locality were burnt in an arson attack perpetrated by suspected Kuki armed militants after firing sophisticated weapons and burning down the whole villages along the Imphal-Tamenglong Road in Kangpokpi.

The 39 internally displaced persons from the two villages comprising 20 males, 13 females and 6 minors were later shifted to the relief centre at Emesiiphro Community Hall that has been established in view of the prevailing situation especially for those who have been affected.

Reports from the Naga People's Organization (NPO) said that there are 50 internally displaced persons in the relief centre at present with another 39 that came in today.

NPO spokesperson, Ng Chunthan expressed gratitude to the Senapati Police and the CRPF for facilitating the shifting of internally displaced persons.

The total number of IDPs shifted to Senapati after the recent unrest stands at 121, who have been given shelter in the relief centre till date.
