Imphal, July 29 2024: The book release ceremony of 'DC Kaith and Forestry in Manipur' written by retired IFS officer Akham Bonbirdhwaja Singh was held at Manipur Press Club at Majorkhul today.

The book highlights the contributions of DC Kaith in laying the foundation of forestry and shaping its course in Manipur.

The author personally met DC Kaith and discussed the Manipur forest plan and reports drafted by the latter in 1933, which finds mention in the book.

It also details the setting up of the Forest Department in Manipur.

The function was graced by SS Chhabra, IFS, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and HOFF; K Thambou Singh, retd IFS officer; RK Nimai Singh, retd IAS officer; Th Ibobi Singh, retd IFS officer and K Radhakumar Singh, retd IAS as presidium members.
