Eco-warriors felicitated

The Federal Student's Organisation, Kangleipak (FESOK) celebrated young eco-warriors by felicitating them at a function held at Manipur Press Club, Imphal today.
At the event, young students from Class I to Class X--who had won the 3rd State Level Painting Competition 2025 on the theme "Beat Plastic Pollution" were encouraged with prizes.
The theme of the painting competition, "Beat Plastic Pollution" aligned with global efforts to raise awareness about the harmful impact of plastic waste, and promote sustainable alternatives.
The painting competition, held State-wide, drew participation from a large number of schools.
The competition not only recognised artistic talents of the young students, but also fostered in them a sense of responsibility to fight plastic pollution.
The prize distribution ceremony at the Manipur Press Club today was attended by DM College of Teacher Education Principal-in-charge Dr Konika Khuraijam, HoD of Environmental Science Associate Professor Dr Naorem Sarita Devi and FESOK president Kangujam Amarjit as president.
At the event, Dr Konika Khuraijam spoke on the importance of conserving the planet Earth and the need for sensitising students on environmental issues.
The painting competition served as a medium to raise awareness about the importance of conserving the environment, she added.
