Imphal, December 27 2025: The All Manipur Scientific Fish Farmer Association has appealed to all concerned not to refrain from disrupting the ongoing preparations for the 'Imoinu Nga Mela'.

Speaking to the media today, All Manipur Scientific Fish Farmer Association president Premananda Thokchom said that fish farmers cannot agree with the demands raised by the women vendors of Khwairamband Keithel to cancel the Imoinu Nga Mela.

He appealed to the women vendors to withdraw their protest in the interest of the fish farmers of the State who have been eagerly waiting for the Imoinu Nga Mela which is held only once a year on the auspicious occasion of 'Imoinu Iratpa Numit'.

Seeking support for the smooth conduct of the fair, Premananda asserted that the Imoinu Nga Mela is a major platform organised by the State's Fisheries Department, directly connecting local fish farmers with consumers to sell indigenous and farmed fish.
