Swachhata Freedom Run reaches Kakching

Kakching, October 27 2024: The 5th edition of the Fit India Swachhata Freedom Run was organised at Kakching today.

The event was organised today by the District Youth Affairs and Sports, Kakching, in collaboration with the Khelo India Centre, Kakching (Badminton and Wushu) at the Indoor Stadium, Kakching Chumnang under the theme "Swachh Bharat Swasth Bharat".

The 5 Km run was flagged off by Ng Sunita Chanu, District Youth Affairs and Sports Officer.

As many as 52 students from various schools in Kakching district participated in the event, which was also attended by staff of the District YAS and officials of the Khelo India Centre, Kakching.

The Fit India Movement was launched on August 29, 2019 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The mission of the movement is to foster behavioural changes and encourage a shift towards a more physically active lifestyle, said the officials.
