Awareness programme organised

Imphal, February 27 2025:
A 1-day orientation & awareness programme on "Harnessing Renewable Energy Sources" and discussion on "Different Ministry of New and Renewable Energy's schemes related to Farmers" was held today at Phayeng Heiyu Lampak Community Hall, Phayeng, Imphal West The programme was organised by Manipur Renewable Energy Development Agency (MANIREDA) under the aegis of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India.
It was graced by MANIREDA Director, Naorem Praveen; Senior Scientific Officer, Babita Thangjam; Scientific Officer, Aga Khan; Junior Engineer, Sanatombi Devi; Junior Engineer, K Gojendro; Phayeng Gram Panchayat, Chairperson, Angom Gojendro; and Ningthoujam Romesh Kumar, an elder of Phayeng Khul.
Speaking on the occasion, Angom Gojendro appreciated MANIREDA for organising the programme to make the people of Phayeng Khul aware about the different schemes initiated by MNRE for the welfare of farmers.
He also stressed on the need for farmers to adopt renewable energy sources like solar and wind power to significantly reduce their environmental impact, decrease energy costs and improve sustainability.
Highlighting that many people in Phayeng area are involved in pig farming, he appealed to MANIREDA to take necessary steps in bringing biogas technology to the area.
Angom Gojendro also sought the attention of the agency on the solar street lamps and rooftop solar plants already installed in the area which are in need for repair/ new installation.
