Imphal, July 26 2025: A 1-day hands-on training of "Understanding of Lifelong Learning for All in Society (ULLAS) Mobile Application" for surveyors of District Literacy Mission Authority, Imphal East was held today at conference hall of the Department of Adult Educationin Babupara, Imphal.

About 60 surveyors from Imphal East district participated in the hands-on training organised by State Literacy Mission Authority, Manipur.

Speaking on the occasion, Gaijaipou Thaimei, State Literacy Mission Authority and Senior Project Officer, Adult Education Department said that the State Literacy Mission Authority, Manipur is implementing the New India Literacy Programme (NILP) in the State through District Literacy Mission Authority in three districts namely Imphal East, Imphal West and Kakching.

He asserted that the ULLAS-NILP aims to provide foundational literacy and numeracy skills, critical life skills, and vocational skills to individuals aged 15 and above who missed out on formal schooling.

"Implemented through volunteerism, the scheme leverages the DIKSHA portal and the ULLAS Mobile App for educational content delivery in regional languages", added Gaijaipou.

S Chhatrajit, In-charge, District Literacy Mission Authority, Imphal East; and other officials of the Adult Education Department also attended the programme.
