Assam Rifles celebrates Kargil Vijay Diwas

To pay tribute to the bravery of Indian soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the country during the Kargil War of 1999, Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) celebrated the 25 th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas across the State on Friday.
According to a release issued by PRO HQ IGAR(S), Assam Rifles celebrated Kargil Vijay Diwas at Thambal Marik College, ARPS Keithelmanbi & Mantripukhri, Vocational Guide School, and Mantripukhri Shopping Complex in Imphal East and Imphal West districts by organising various events such as flag hoisting, speeches, documentaries, interactive sessions and patriotic performances.
Sanjeevani's Skill Development Program also commemorated the day with a video projection and discussions, fostering a sense of patriotism and unity among participants.
In Churachandpur district, special programs were held for school students, Agniveer, and SSC aspirants in Kangvai & Veng villages.
Events included interactive sessions, wreath-laying at Khuga and Thinghat villages, and screenings of Kargil War documentaries.
Participants including children from Grace Orphanage Home and Hill Model School, engaged in activities honoring the Kargil heroes, culminating in a pledge to uphold the values of courage, unity and National pride.
In Ukhrul district, Assam Rifles celebrated Kargil Vijay Diwas at Shangshak village by organising a lecture on the Kargil War, painting competition on the theme "Kargil Vijay Diwas", patriotic song competition, and screening of the movie "LOC Kargil" .
The event was participated by 53 students and 6 teachers from Assam Rifles Public School.
In Chandel district, Assam Rifles organised weapon display, essay writing competition and drawing competition to celebrate Kargil Vijay Diwas at Gamphazol, Phaisanjang and Changpol villages.
In Tengnoupal district, Assam Rifles commemorated the Kargil Vijay Diwas with a documentary screening and motivational lecture at their Moreh camp.
The event featured a detailed lecture and a documentary on the heroic deeds and sacrifices of soldiers during the Kargil War, followed by refreshments.
Similarly, Assam Rifles commemorated the Kargil Vijay Diwas by organising a grand celebration at Apollo ground in Tamenglong district.
The event featured an exhibition and a documentary screening, highlighting significant events of the Kargil War in a chronological order with rare images & illustrations.
Over 500 students from seven schools across the Tamenglong district participated in the event.
These events provided hands-on experiences, encouraged reflections on the sacrifices made by soldiers, and offered creative platforms to express patriotism, instilling respect and national pride among the youth while honoring the Kargil heroes.
