Four-days workshop on Shumang Leela concludes

The four-days workshop on "Shumang Leela" under the Bagless Day program of Prime Minister Schools for Rising India (PMSHRI) was concluded on Tuesday at JNV Umathel Kakching.
The workshop was organised by Cape of Good Hopes, New Delhi in collaboration with Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Umathel Kakching.
The closing function of the workshop was attended by Adode Ganesh, Principal JNV Umathel as chief guest, M Mandakini, vice-president of JNV Umathel as president, and renowned Shumang Leela artist, Sagolsem Sana and Karam Ashinikanta as guest of honours.
Speaking at the occasion, Adode Ganesh, principal of JNV Umathel, highlighted the importance of inculcating the students the artistic talents hidden inside them.
He stated that this bagless day workshop has opened up a lot of opportunities for students who would like to take up Shumang Leela and art related subjects as their profession.
Sagolsem Sana, as guest of honour and resource person of the workshop said that Shumang Leela is a great medium to showcase the image of a society.
He continued that during the four-days workshop, students were thrilled and excited to learn the art form and applauded the students for their remarkable performance and dedication during the workshop.
Karam Nishikanta said that PMSHRI's bagless day program is an opportunity for students to learn the skills and knowledge and not be limited to only academic books.
The program concluded with a short play of Shumang Leela by the students.
