Imphal, November 23 2024:
In an effort to enhance healthcare access in the region, Assam Rifles in collaboration with Indian Medical Association (IMA) successfully organised a free medical camp at Lilong today.
Despite the prevailing law & order situation of Manipur, the camp attracted 18 specialist doctors from various parts of the country who flew in to offer their expertise and provide free healthcare services to the local populace.
According to a release issued by HQ IGAR (South), the diverse range of medical professionals included dental surgeons, orthopedic surgeons, ophthalmologists, gynecologists, skin specialists, physicians, pediatricians, ENT specialists, MDs in medicine, and nutritionists.
The medical professionals provided free consultations and health screenings to address various medical concerns, from routine check-ups to specialized care.
The response from the community was overwhelming, with over 1,200 men, women, and children from nearby villages attending the camp.
The collaboration between the Assam Rifles and Indian Medical Association underscored the Army's ongoing commitment to the welfare of local communities.
The Assam Rifles has a long-standing history of providing humanitarian assistance in border areas, and initiatives like this free medical camp reflect its dedication to improving the quality of life for civilians in these regions.
The event was also supported by the Lilong United Club Association, which played a crucial role in ensuring its success.
