Imphal, June 23 2025: In a move that could discourage people from testing for COVID-19, RIMS has fixed the testing price at Rs 1,200 for Casualty and OPD patients.

"This is to inform all concerned Heads of Departments, Units, and Sections of the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, that the cost of Truenat/CBNAAT for COVID-19 is hereby fixed at Rs 1200 for Casualty and OPD patients at RIMS.

This order is issued with the approval of the Director, RIMS, Imphal," said an order issued by Medical Superintendent, RIMS Hospital, Prof N Sanjib Singh on June 18 .

This order surfaced amid a surge in the number of Covid cases in Manipur.

The State has 158 active cases, as per a Government report on Monday.
