Anganwadi workers join protest

Imphal, April 23 2026:
Members of Anganwadi Workers & Helpers Union, Manipur joined the Delhi Dhama Andolan organised by the All India Anganwadi Workers' Federation under the banner of AITUC today at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi.
The agitation was organised in view of the pending demands for the welfare of Anganwadi workers and helpers including benefits similar to Class III and IV employees (pay scale, dearness allowance, gratuity, provident fund and monthly pension of Rs 10,000); payment of minimum wage to Anganwadi workers all over India; allowing Anganwadi workers who have passed 10th standard and are below 55 years to apply for promotion to Supervisor post by relaxing eligibility criteria;' fixing 65 years as retirement age of Anganwadi workers and helpers across the country and Employees' State Insurance benefit for their social security and medical relief, among others.
The Delhi Dhama Andolan was staged on April 21, 22 and 23 .
