The Indian Youth Congress (IYC), the youth wing of the Indian National Congress, continued its membership drive initiative in Kangpokpi district on Tuesday, following its inaugural event at the MPCC Imphal office on Monday, followed by a similar drive in Churachandpur district.

The event was supported by various Block Congress office bearers from three assembly constituencies in Kangpokpi and a large gathering of youths from the district.
The membership drive aims to engage youth, particularly from Kangpokpi, to join the IYC and participate at the grassroots level in building both society and the nation.
Dr Lamtinthang congratulated the newly appointed IYC president Uday Bhanu Chib, and expressed gratitude to the outgoing president Srinivas, known as the "Oxygen Man", for his significant contributions to the party.
He urged the local youth to actively take partin the IYC's initiative, which seeks to bring positive changes in society.
In her speech, Sarifa Rahman outlined the enrolment process and encouraged participants to join IYC, emphasising the vision of Rahulpandhi's 'Inclusive India', where everyone is equally represented and respected.
She highlighted that the IYC is the only political organisation in India to hold internal elections, which marks a historic moment for Indian politics.
This step, she noted, aligns with the vision of Rahul Gandhi and the guidance of AICC president Kharge.
Elections for Youth Congress leadership positions at assembly, district, and state levels will be held in Manipur.
The lYC's goal is to build a strong grassroots organisation in every corner of the state.
The nomination drive will run from October 23 to 27, after which the membership process will begin, with detailed information available at www.ycea.in.
The IYC invites young individuals committed to working with integrity for the people of India to contact the election team.
Orientation and training sessions will be held to inform potential candidates about the election process and how to become an elected leader in their area.
This opportunity offers a clear and transparent path for youth leaders to serve their communities and the nation, while also aspiring to high political office, Sarifa elaborated.
Secretary in-charge Sarifa Rahman also visited Churachandpur district on Monday and interacted with IYC members of the district.
During her interaction with the members, Sarifa highlighted the procedure for interested individuals to join the party as members online and addressed various queries raised by Congress workers.
