SHEIPAL celebrates Foundation Day

Imphal, August 22 2024: The 18th Foundation Day of Sheihek Sheireng Sheipal Shemgat Lup (SHEIPAL) was celebrated at the Loktak Hall of Manipur Press Club, Imphal on Thursday.

It was attended by Wangkhei AC MLA, Thangjam Arunkumar Singh; SHEIPAL president, Dr Athokpam Kholchandra; Imphal East Zilla Parishad, ex-Upadhyaksha, Dr Kshetri Tama; Angel Children Hospital & Vaccination Centre, managing director, Dr Yaikhomba Taorem and social activist Dr Kiran Yendrembam as presidium members.

The celebration began with the presentation of Lengyan to the dignitaries followed by the lighting of lamps.

SHEIPAL editor Rakesh Naorem delivered the welcome address while the keynote address was given by SHEIPAL secretary KC Gita.

During the programme, Lifetime Achievement Awards in the memory of Khomdram Bidhu and Leimakhubi Devi for the year 2023 and 2024 were presented to Nandalal Roy and Mayanglambam Sumati respectively.

SHEIPAL awardees namely Dr Kshetrimayum Subadani, Ngangom Norendraj it and Rakesh Naorem along with SHEIPAL's former presidents Dr Thokchom Chandra.

Khangembam Ibeton and Ranjit Singh Irungba were also felicitated.

The event culminated with a vote of thanks proposed by Ngangom Norendrajit, executive member; SHEIPAL.
