CAU holds joint council meetings at Aizawl

Imphal, June 22 2026:
The inaugural function of the 15th Research Council Meeting, 11th Extension Education Council Meeting, and 33rd Academic Council Meeting of Central Agricultural University (CAU), Imphal was held on Monday at the Auditorium of the College of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry, Selesih, Aizawl.
Mizoram Governor, General (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh, PVSM, AVSM, YSM (retired), graced the occasion as chief guest.
He visited an exhibition of technologies, innovations, and products developed by CAU and its constituent colleges before the formal session.
The programme began with the National Song and Anthem, followed by the University Song.
Vice-Chancellor Dr Anupam Mishra delivered the welcome address.
A Technology License Agreement was exchanged between Prime Meghalaya and the Meghalaya Basin Management Agency.
The Governor released university publications and Comilla Cotton Meditech products and distributed lavender seeds to farmers.
In his address, the Governor lauded CAU's contributions to agricultural education, research, and extension in the North East, urging stronger collaboration for sustainable development.
Prof K Mamocha Singh, Director of Research, proposed the vote of thanks.
Distinguished attendees included Prof Pravat Kumar Roul, VC, OUAT; Prof MM Adhikary.
former VC, BCKV; Dr KM Bujarbaruah, former VC, AAU; Dr P Das, former DDG, ICAR; and deans and officials from CAU's thirteen constituent colleges.
