MSPU observes 20th Pensioners Day

Manipur State Pensioners Union (MSPU) observed the 20th Pensioners Day at Pensioners Shanglen, Pishumthong today.
The observance was graced by dignitaries, including MSPU president Dr M Rajendra, working president L Sarat, senior vice-president L Gunindra, and advisors SA Halim, Th Joykumar, RK Priyokumar and S Kalanjoy.
The event began with the offering of floral tributes to the photograph of deceased founder members of the union.
The gathering also observed two minutes of silence as a mark of respect to the deceased members of the union.
Speaking on the occasion, MSPU general secretary Lairikyengbam Purujit said that since its inception, the union has been working tirelessly for the welfare and of pensioners of the State.
He also shared that the MSPU is affiliated with the All India State Government Pensioners Federation (AISGPF) which has been continuously engaging with the Central Government to address the grievances of pensioners affected by the new pension scheme.
He asserted that the AISGPF has been pushing for systemic improvements that enhance the ease of living for retirees, who have dedicated their lives to public service.
As part of the event, MSPU presented simple gifts to 10 oldest pensioners as a token of appreciation & encouragement.
