Thoubal, April 21 2026 : A condolence meeting was held today at Chongtha Mia Complex, Tripura, to mourn the untimely demise of noted writer Dr Jamini Devi.

The programme was organised by the Chongtha Mia Memorial Trust, with its president Gurumayum Nitai Sharma presiding over the function.

Th Rekha Singha, Pradhan of Chowmuhani Bazar Gram Panchayat, attended the event as the chief guest.

Among others present were Trust member and PAWF Tripura, president Ksh Madhabi, former president G Biplab Sharma, and social worker Mayengbam Baldev Singha, who joined the gathering to pay their respects.

The attendees observed a minute of silence and offered prayers for the eternal peace of the departed soul.

During the meeting, speakers including Trust president Nitai Sharma, secretary Heigrujam Gandheswari and Ksh Madhabi recalled the life, works, and literary contributions of the late Dr Jamini Devi.
