Peace Committee Kangleipak condemns Gwaltabi incident, warns of intense agitation if not clarified

Moirang, May 20 2025: Peace Committee Kangleipak Manipur has vehemently condemned the Gwaltabi incident today where security forces forced journalists to conceal "Manipur" displayed on the bus they were traveling.

A team of media persons were heading to Ukhrul for the Shirui Lily Festival.

However, they were stopped by the security forces at Gwaltabi and instructed to cover "Manipur State Transport" displayed on the bus.

This incident is highly condemnable, said Rajesh Meitei, president of Peace Committee Kangleipak, speaking to media persons at Hotel Kangleipak in Moirang.

The State is under President's Rule, and as such, the Governor and authorities concerned must clarify on the incident.

If the authorities fail to clarify and take action against the erring security personnel involved in the incident within 24 hours, Peace Committee Kangleipak Manipur along with other like minded organisations will launch an intense agitation, Rajesh said.
