Imphal, April 18 2026:
The Road-side Vendors Welfare Association (RSVWA) has extended financial aid and essential supplies to families grieving losses from recent violence in Bishnupur district, underscoring community solidarity amid escalating unrest.
The aid targets victims of two linked incidents.
On April 7, suspected Kuki militants bombed Tronglaobi, killing two young children (aged 5 years and 5 months) and critically injuring their mother.
Public outrage sparked protests, during which CRPF personnel allegedly opened fire, claiming three more lives and wounding several others.

Association members, led by president Kshetri Tama visited the bereaved families of those killed in the firing: Wahengbam Bobi (29), from Wangoo Terakhong; Huidrom Henry (28), from Phougakchao Ikhai Awang Leikai; Laishram Jiten (48), from Torbung, residing at Moirang College Multipurpose Hall Relief Camp.
Speaking to the media, Kshetri Tama stated that the association felt it was their duty to support those who lost their lives while participating in a public movement seeking justice for the innocent children killed in Tronglaobi.
She emphasized that the victims were not involved in any unlawful activity but were breadwinners for their families.
The Association condemned the excessive force used against protesters and demanded a thorough Government probe.
RSVWA also condemned today's Kuki militant attack on the Imphal-Ukhrul road that targeted Nagas, and called for peace and protection of all innocent civilians in the region.
