Cultural event 'Vedaoyu Niih' conducted

Imphal, November 17 2022: Poumai Naga Union, Imphal organised a cultural programme cum get together titled 'Vedaoyu Niih' under the theme 'Identity with one Culture' at Tribal Research Institute (TRI), Chingmeirong.

The programme was graced by Social Welfare Minister, Heikham Dingo Singh as the chief guest; MLA of Wangkhei Assembly Constituency, Thangjam Arunkumar as the guest of honour and MLA of Karong Assembly Constituency, J Kumo Sha as the host.

Traditional dance and musical presentation of the Poumai community enthralled the audience during the programme.

A cultural fashion show was also held as a part of the programme.

Speaking at the occasion, Heikham Dingo expressed that organising such a tradition and culture based programme will help in safeguarding the identity of one's community.

He also maintained that conducting cultural programmes showcasing the unique and beautiful tradition and culture of different communities will eventually help in creating a harmonious and unified society.
