DESAM to organise debate competition, invites applications

The Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) is set to organise a State level open debating competition in connection with the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking on June 26.According to a press release issued by Khangembam Pilot, secretary, anti drug abuse campaign, DESAM HQ, interested participants can apply for the competition by submitting the necessary Google form through the link available at DESAM's Facebook page "Meeyamgi Desam Meeyamgi Desam" .
The last date for form submission is June 24.The 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winners will be awarded Rs 10,000, Rs 7,000 and Rs 5,000 respectively along with a memento and certificate each.
Additionally, consolation prizes (Rs 1000, memento and certificate) will be awarded to five participants.
The competition will be held on the topic "Drug related issues in Manipur can be solved only with sincere efforts from the Government".
The DESAM press release further, said that the student body has worked relentlessly to create a healthy society with a special focus on the student community.
DESAM organised the debate competition with the belief that the detrimental effects of drug abuse on society will be properly discussed and exposed during the competition, said the press release.
