RIHP Yairipok celebrates Silver Jubilee

Thoubal, December 14 2025: Marking 25 years of dedicated service towards empowerment of persons with disabilities, the Regional Institute of Handicapped Persons (RIHP), Yairipok celebrated its Silver Jubilee on Sunday at the institute hall at Yairipok Bamol Leikai.

The celebration was held under the theme "A Friend in Need is a Friend Indeed: A True Friend Helps During Difficult Times" .

The event was graced by Thoubal Zilla Parishad chairperson Kh Sobha Singh as chief guest; RIHP president, Retd Joint Director of Veterinary, Dr Maibam Rajendra as functional president; and RIPH vice-president Laikhuram Ibobi Singh and Leirongthel Gram Panchayat caretaker Pradhan, Salam Kumar Singh as guests of honour.

As part of the celebration, dignitaries offered floral tributes and paid homage to the portraits of late members of RIPH who played a significant role in the establishment and growth of the institute.

Students of the institute later presented a colourful cultural programme featuring traditional dances and songs, captivating the audience with their performances.

The institute also felicitated differently-abled students by presenting simple gifts as a mark of encouragement.
