Loktak Literary and Art Festival kicks off at Sendra

Seeking to inspire young minds through folk-lore, literature, and innovative ideas, the Loktak and Art Festival commenced today at the Loktak Inland Water Transport Complex, Sendra.
The festival was inaugurated by the Deputy Commissioner of Bishnupur, Pooja Elangbam, who also serves as the curator of the event.
The event is jointly organised by the Imphal Art Gallery, Loktak Development Authority, Book Club of Imphal, NHIDCL.
and NHPC, in collaboration with Eta Foundation.
The two-day festival, which will conclude on Saturday, features a variety of stalls showcasing handloom and handicraft products, art galleries, and displays of blacksmith and craft items.

DC Pooja Elangbam said the festival is focused on creating a nurturing platform for youth to express their creative ideas.
She added that the festival will bring together scholars, speakers, authors, writers, and activists from Manipur and beyond, exchanging ideas through dialogues and discussions on themes such as Gender and Society, Gender and Films, Memo Writing, Mental health and other engaging themes.
She noted that this first edition of the festival aims to contribute to regional development by empowering the youth.
Expressing optimism, she noted that the festival would expand in the coming years and urged the people to extend their support to help the event grow into a grand annual celebration.
