Dr Naorem Bobo announces candidature from Kakching AC

Kakching, August 14 2026: Dr Naorem Bobo on Friday announced his candidature for the upcoming 13th Manipur Legislative Assembly election from the 37-Kakching Assembly Constituency, pledging to uphold the territorial integrity of Manipur.

The announcement was made at a programme held at N Kumar Brick Field, Kakching Lamdong, where Dr Bobo declared that he would contest the election with the slogan "No Compromise on Manipur Territorial Integrity".

Speaking at the programme, Dr Bobo said safeguarding Manipur requires a clear understanding of the State's territorial boundaries, history and identity.

Without properly understanding these aspects, he said, efforts to protect Manipur and its interests would not be meaningful.

He said that amid the prevailing crisis and violence in the State, the territorial integrity and boundaries of Manipur have remained intact primarily due to the efforts of the people and youths rather than the government and political leaders.

He said the prevailing situation demanded elected representatives capable of creating greater awareness among the people and collectively working to protect the interests of Manipur.

It was with this objective, he said, that he decided to contest the forthcoming Assembly election.

The programme was attended by Good Governance Party president L Romi, Nongpok Sayang Apunba Lup president Ananda Laishram, political analyst Gitagen Khuman, Dr Bobo's mother Naorem Sakhi and elders of the locality attended the programme.
