AR conducts awareness programmes, medical camp

Shangshak Battalion of 10 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) conducted a series of lectures on health and hygiene and COVID-19 Awareness drive under Swachh Bharat Mission at Ramva village of Ukhrul district today.
The campaign was organised to create awareness among the villagers regarding health and hygiene in daily routine to prevent spread of diseases, said a statement issued by PRO Assam Rifles.
In addition a lecture on precautionary measures against COVID and importance of vaccination was also conducted at the event which was attended by approximately 76 villagers from Shakpao, Lambui and Ramva villages who were educated regarding nationwide spike in COVID-19 cases and the importance of social distancing, use of masks and hand sanitisation, added the statement.
Masks and hand sanitizer were also distributed during the event.
The event witnessed an overwhelming response from the local populace.
In a similar instance, Moreh Battalion of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) organised a COVID-19 Awareness Campaign at Adullam Drug Rehabilitation Centre Moreh yesterday.
An interactive and enlightening lecture was conducted by the CMO Moreh Battalion with the inmates on all issues and their queries regarding the same were answered, said another statement issued by PRO Assam Rifles.
The inmates were also guided to get vaccinated and further take preventive measures against the Covid-19 pandemic.
Keeping in view of the humid climate, Moreh Battalion presented ceilings fans and CFLs for smooth functioning of the centre at the event which was attended by a gathering of more than 100 people of Rehabilitation centre, added the statement.
The efforts of the Battalion were highly appreciated by the Chairman, Adullam Drug Rehabilitation Centre and the inmates.
In continuation with the efforts of Assam Rifles to reach out to the general population and assist them in humanitarian aid, Tengnoupal Battalion of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR(South) conducted a medical camp at Shaibol village yesterday.
The medical camp was aimed at reaching out to the remote areas and assisting the villagers who have no access to basic healthcare services or knowledge about diseases they are suffering from.
A total of 50 people attended the camp including ladies and children.
Two doctors from 20 Assam Rifles carried out the health checkup of the villagers and distributed medicines.
Those who were suffering from severe ailments have been referred by the doctors for a detailed checkup in civil hospitals, said a statement issued by PRO Assam Rifles.
The camp culminated with distribution of medicines to those who were in attendance.
