Lecture, awareness programmes held

Imphal, December 13 2025:
As part of the Nayi Chetna 4.0 Campaign, Thoungambi Women Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited, under the Manipur State Rural Livelihoods Mission, successfully organised a 1 -Day Awareness Programme on Gender Equality at Laipham Khunou Community Hall, Imphal East district today.
It was attended by Laipham Khunou Gram Panchayat's ex-ZP L Olendro, ex-Chairman M Phiroja, CLF president H Pravabati, LKYDA Club vice president Maibam Sunilkumar, SHG members, CLF members and locals of the area.
Dr Dhanabir Laishram, G Ravi Sharma (Social Welfare Department, Manipur) and T Latarani Devi (Centre Administrator, One Stop Centre, Imphal East) also attended the programme as resource persons.
The programme focused on key themes such as recognition of women's domestic and unpaid work as an economic contribution, women's participation in decision-making, and safety & mobility of women.
Special emphasis was laid on engaging male members of SHG households, reinforcing that gender equality is a shared responsibility.
The programme witnessed encouraging participation and meaningful interactions.
Moreover, the Enat Yokkhatpa Luptin, Manipur (EYOL) organised a lecture cum discussion programme at NIPCO office in Imphal today.
The programme, moderated by EYOL vice president Longjamcha Sanathoi Piba, deliberated on various topics related to the marriage ceremony.
Leimapokpam Meitei Tompok and Yumnam Abanti also attended the programme as resource persons.
