Meanwhile, MLA Leishiyo Keishing enlightened the crowd on a systematic approach towards advancing peace in the society.
According to MLA Leishiyo Keishing, "our traditional land holding system has to be modified or amended as we have no proper land law to deal with the situation effectively".
He said that proper rules and regulations have to be framed and formulated for implementation of universal land law to ensure that development is not hindered.
Meanwhile Ukhrul MLA Ram Muivah provided a brief background on the formation of Tangkhul Shanao Long through tragic circumstances in 1974.He said Rose from Kumram village and Luingamla of Ngainga village sacrificed their lives due to atrocities inflicted by the Indian Army.
This subsequently led to the formation of the Tangkhul Shanao Long to safeguard women's rights and to further the collective fight for justice.
MLA Ram Muivah also mentioned the unique and beautiful culture of Tangkhul women known as 'Pukreila'.
Pukreila is a woman who has married outside the clan or village.
